DIY rooster mask for the New Year. DIY cockerel for the New Year

There is less and less time left before the New Year holidays, and preparations for them are proceeding at a rapid pace, and it’s worth thinking about a New Year’s costume for your child in advance.

As a rule, on the eve of the New Year, kindergartens hold matinees. Schools also organize events to mark this beloved holiday. At such events, children have the opportunity to demonstrate their talents, prepare dance routines, and learn songs and poems.

Each child participating in New Year's performance, wants to show off his talent and stand out with his creative outfit. Moms and dads are excitedly awaiting the distribution of roles in children's New Year's performances. All parents want to see their child in one of the leading roles; they hope that teachers or educators will notice his talent and openness while performing on stage.

But having received the coveted role, it is not enough just to learn the words; you also need to come up with a suitable costume. This is already a task for parents. Some schools and preschools have their own costumes for theatrical performances, but this is very rare; In most cases, you have to make the costume yourself.

Usually children are given only masks, but this is not always enough to create a colorful and memorable character. All children want to look smart at the holiday and surprise their friends with a bright, recognizable costume.

You can, of course, buy a costume in a store, but New Year's carnival outfits are not cheap, and more often than not it is an unjustified waste, because the clothes will most likely no longer be useful. In addition, carnival outfits are not ordinary clothes that are in every store, New Year's suit You still have to look, plus you may not guess with the size.

Another option is to rent a suit, but such a solution will require considerable expenses, and given how relevant such suits will be, they will quickly be sold out.

It is much more practical to make a costume for a child New Year's party with your own hands.

The symbol of the coming 2017 will be the Fire Rooster. This New Year, the Rooster costume is the most relevant. This poultry has bright plumage, so the carnival costume should be colorful.

The rooster is the hero of many fairy tales; he stands out from other characters with his brightness; take this into account when creating a costume for your child.

Preparation

By creating a New Year's costume for a child with your own hands, you can try on the role of a fashion designer. In order to make a carnival outfit, you do not need to be a professional seamstress, just basic sewing skills and imagination. The instructions will help you quickly complete the task. A creative approach is encouraged in this matter.

Before you start creating a New Year's rooster costume, you need to decide on its elements.

So, the rooster’s outfit includes:

  • torso;
  • headdress decorated with a comb;
  • wings with eye-catching feathers;
  • legs;
  • bright tail.

All details must be in harmony with each other and hold firmly.

Advice. Think through every detail carnival costume so that you don’t have to redo it later.

The funny cockerel costume is ideal for kids. You can go the simple route (if the child is small, a plausible outfit is not so important): put on the child a sunny yellow T-shirt (you can also use a white one) and red or green pants with suspenders.

Advice. Choose things that match color palette rooster, preferably plain, so that you can decorate them with shreds later. Yellow, soft green, and orange colors are welcome. The top should be bright and the bottom darker.

The bright top will be balanced by brown pants. The look needs to be complemented with details such as a comb (make sure it is securely fastened so that the part does not fall off at the wrong moment) or a beak sewn to the cap.

Don't forget about the catchy collar and matching cuffs. Glitter will help you create a New Year's ambiance: at the final stage, you decorate your outfit with it.

If you need a costume for an older child, you will need a pattern and multi-colored material, fittings and appropriate accessories.

The choice of fabric and other materials is very important point. As already noted, the rooster is a bright bird with a beautiful crest, an elegant tail and a confident gait. The Rooster feels like a king, his shades are, first of all, red, sunny yellow, emerald and blue (remember the reflections in the tail).

The Year of the Fire Rooster is coming, and taking this into account, the material for sewing the New Year's rooster costume should be chosen in a rich, bright color scheme.

Advice: choose breathable fabric to prevent your child from sweating. It’s ideal if you can find nylon fabric: it’s easy to cut, and there are plenty of color options for this material.

Creating a New Year's outfit

In a few simple steps you can create a bright image for your child.

  1. You should start with the headdress. As a headdress, you can use a hat made in the form of a comb (it is not difficult to make according to patterns - first cut it out and then sew two parts, attach a gathered comb on top).

The comb can also be made voluminous: cut two pieces of fabric scarlet color and fill them with foam rubber. A voluminous comb can be attached to a bandana or a regular hat. If time is short, the headdress can be replaced with a rooster mask.

  2. The second option is a little more difficult; it consists in making the top of the outfit in one piece - and connecting the hood with the cape. The cape is needed to recreate the imitation of bird wings. Sew a comb into the seam of the hood, which is located inside, and add eyes and a beak to it.

To make the eyes, use scissors to cut out an oval blank from white material, and sew a small black circle on top. Use beads or iridescent threads as a finishing touch. The beak can also be made from fabric (in the central part, attach a triangle filled with foam rubber or other filler with thread and a needle).

Important! To make the beak, you should use red, orange or yellow fabric.

You can also use paper as a material for the beak.

Take thick paper (preferably cardboard) and paint it with gouache to which PVA glue has been added, and then cover it with material, preferably red, but yellow will also work. Papier-mâché for making a beak is also a good option. Sew red grooves on the sides of the headdress (they can also be filled with padding polyester or left as is - flat).

  3. It is recommended to make the main part of the outfit, the shirt, by analogy with a bat. To do this, you can use a simple blouse, decorating it with a colored collar or shirtfront. Decorate the sleeves with puffy cuffs and make teeth reminiscent of feathers (buttons are also suitable for decorating the cuffs).
  4. By tying a bright bow around your neck (it is better to use satin material), you will imitate a rooster's beard. If the T-shirt long sleeves, or the child will put on a turtleneck - make a chest, securing a shirtfront with feathers. To do this, cut out an oval fabric blank, make teeth along the edges (to imitate feathers), sew on several colored patches cut in the form of drops.

Choose the shirt size based on the child’s height; it should go below the chest. Perform actions consistently and do not rush.

In the same way, you can make a luxurious cape from a large semicircular blank, attaching it to a jacket in the arm area (also decorating it with rags imitating feathers). Such a cape can be a single piece with a hood.

If you don’t want a cape, make feathers from multi-colored material according to the template and attach them with threads in a checkerboard pattern (start from the shoulder). Sew several feathers in rows, due to this you will make the costume brighter and more magnificent.

  5. The lower part of the suit can be trousers, loose trousers or shorts. The best option is trousers below the knee length. Decorate the bottom with teeth or sew feathers like on the sleeves, so the outfit will look harmonious, and all the elements will be combined with each other.

Note! Feathers for the top and bottom can be made from colored ruffle flounces, leftover silk or shiny ribbons.

If the room is not too warm, wear light-colored tights underneath.

  6. If your child wears sandals, be sure to find colorful socks (can be plain or striped). If you wish, you can also make homemade boots: make paper tops for the shoes, making cuffs and decorating them with buckles, then decorate them. To decorate the buckles, glue glitter foil to them and attach to the ribbon. It is not difficult to create an imitation of rooster legs in the form of soft, comfortable chunya, on the sole of which there are three fingers.

  8. An older child's outfit can be complemented with other original details, for example, a vest. A sash made of red satin fabric with tassels will look very impressive.

When creating a carnival costume, remember the rooster from the famous cartoon “The Musicians of Bremen” and be guided by it in your work, try to recreate this fairy-tale character.

  9. The most important part in creating a rooster carnival costume is the tail. The tail is the pride of the rooster; when many people mention this bird, they associate it with its bright tail, so you can’t do without this element in your outfit.

Important! When creating a children's New Year's costume, you need to remember not only the attractiveness of the outfit, but also its convenience.

Remember that the child will have to perform in a costume and perform dance numbers. If your child is comfortable, he will be able to relax.

It is important that the child is not afraid of breaking any part of the costume. Wire frame for tail - no best option, you need to make it soft. Cut out several blanks in the form of feathers, glue them reverse side and insert foam rubber. Sew the blanks. Divide the feathers into two halves. Having chosen a feather that is longer than the others, attach another shorter one to it, stitch it, then on top of these two - another feather, and so on until the shortest one.

Repeat similar steps with the second part of the feathers. Connect the two feather parts by stitching the largest feathers and sewing two sticks into each at the place where they connect (to give the tail rigidity and stability).

Make a belt using Velcro and attach the tail using thread and a needle to its center.

It is better to make the tail feathers voluminous, but soft.

The tail can also be made from multi-colored satin ribbons: They will flutter beautifully.

Advice: When choosing accessories for a carnival costume, remember that you should get a single ensemble.

There are several ways to make a New Year's rooster outfit; they are all pretty simple. Working from patterns is very convenient.

Making a homemade carnival costume will not require much expense. New Year's outfit self made It’s not that difficult to make: it’s creative, interesting work.

If you have a sewing machine at home, then the task becomes much easier. The main part of the work is related to the manufacture of the main parts of the costume: shirt, headdress, wings, tail, but an equally important role belongs to accessories. It is the accessories that give the costume a festive look.

New Year's rooster costumes for boys, photo

New Year is a holiday that children look forward to with special impatience, so preparing and sewing a rooster costume with your own hands for a boy to perform in kindergarten or school will be an important event for them.

When creating a New Year's costume for a child, involve him in this work: let him provide details to decorate the outfit or perform other simple tasks - this way you can spend time with the child and give him the opportunity to feel his importance. In addition, the child's participation in the process reduces the likelihood that he will not like the costume.

Using pieces of fabric, scissors and sewing machine you will create an original carnival rooster outfit for the New Year's party.

A carnival costume is one of the components of a child’s successful performance at New Year's holiday. Take some time and sew a costume for your child that will make him the center of attention at children's party, please your child with a beautiful outfit.

I have made masks of roosters and hens, or rather, let’s call them affectionately, roosters and hens more than once: these are the favorite heroes of Russians folk tales: “The Ryaba Hen”, “The Cockerel and the Hen”, “Zayushkina’s Hut”, “The Cat, the Fox and the Rooster”. Excellent performances are staged based on these stories... And on the eve of the Year of the Rooster, there was a boom in costumes and rooster masks.

I made two types of rooster (chicken) masks, the first is a cap with a beak and a comb, but, as I already said in the article, it is important that the actor does not move the mask high on the back of the head.

I prefer the second option - a half mask on the face. We start from the same one that underlies both the crane mask and the owl mask. The only difference is in the details.

How to make a rooster (chicken) mask out of paper with your own hands

Both the rooster and the hen have a comb; the rooster has a larger one. But I do not recommend making this decoration very tall and large - if it is made from cardboard or paper, then the large one will... float. It's better to keep it in moderation. So, in principle, the only difference between a rooster and a hen will be that the rooster’s mask is also decorated with a beard.

So here's the pattern.

We will make the mask on a hoop. There is a wide bridge across the head from the forehead to the back of the head:

We’ll make the front part of the mask simply: we’ll glue the darts on the forehead, and we’ll glue the beak into the opening of the nose. Now we need to figure out how to install the comb so that it does not fall over and at the same time is located in an arc, going around the head. The “comb from one piece” option, to be honest, is a bit complicated, I don’t recommend it. Let’s do it better this way: we’ll recruit from separate segments. We will bend their bases and glue them once - every other time: bend to the right - bend to the left, and with a slight overlap. Here's a picture to make it clear:

When the comb is completely completed, mask off the folds on both sides - glue two strips of paper - I used masking tape. That's it, there is a chicken mask.

Now let's modify it - add a beard. It consists of three parts - two large teardrop-shaped ones are connected to each other by this small “figure eight”.

Attach the beard to the mask first with paper clips, and only after making sure that the face fits in freely and the beard does not interfere with speaking, glue it together. Today I asked Comrade Snowman to pose in a rooster mask.

Looks like quite a convincing cockerel. But he himself asks to make a chicken mask for him. If you, dear readers, are also interested in the chicken mask, then write in the comments, and I will do it right away and describe everything in detail.

Spring has come, summer is approaching. The next series of children's matinees with fancy dress is being prepared in kindergartens. Today, the eternal entertainers, the teachers decided to arrange a kindergarten poultry costume ball.

The difficult task of parents once again falls to the creative task of preparing at least mask (or even a carnival costume) to the matinee. Naturally, it's better to do this Vplace with a child.

So, the topic of today’s post is the answer to the question of how to make place with children, with your own hands masksbirds: gosling, duckling, goose, duck, turkey, rooster and chicken for the matinee.

Today, together with the children, we will make bird masks with our own hands:

It's better for adults to turn making masksbirds: gosling, duckling, goose, duck, turkey, rooster and chicken in educational game. The following will help you with this: a printer, perhaps acrylic pearlescent paints with glitter effects, a laminator (if you have one, of course - if you don’t, you can attach the product to thick cardboard) and an elastic band or a piece of rope.

Any child wishes him mask was the most beautiful and cool in the group. This, a completely natural requirement, requires a creative and extraordinary approach on the part of parents.

So, with your children with your own hands let's do it masksbirds

2. Paste the saved mask template into a text editor (for example, Word) and stretch it onto an A4 sheet (you need to select portrait or landscape page orientation depending on the one you choose masksbirds).

3. Print the template on a printer masksbirds.

4. Give your child the opportunity to color creatively masksbirds: canaries, parrots, owls and guinea fowl(it is better to use professional acrylic pearlescent paints with sparkle effects, silver or gold effects (they can be found in an art salon), as well as special gels with shiny elements (sold in stationery stores)).

5. After maskbirds: gosling, duckling, goose, duck, turkey, rooster and chickenV Once it dries, it’s better to laminate it and cut it along the contour.

Below are bird mask templates that will help you adequately solve the difficult task of organizing carnival costumes birds: gosling, duckling, goose, duck, turkey, rooster and chickenfor your child.

Dear colleagues! I present to your attention a master class on making the “Easter Cockerel”, which we did with middle school children.

I continue the story about flowers on my blog. Look how beautiful the flower girls are! This time there is a master class on hats for...

It would seem that there is nothing complicated here, all the components of the rooster costume are simple - wings, tail, beak, beard. But difficulties arise from the very beginning - if you make a tail, then it must be voluminous and keep its shape; the beak and beard in the form of a mask prevent the child from breathing; a hat with a scallop is too hot... But let’s still try to make something interesting with our own hands.

DIY rooster costume

Let's start with the head. One of the most beautiful options for a rooster costume for both boys and girls is to sew a full-fledged balaclava cap with a comb, beak and beard.

1. Measure the length from the top of your head to your collarbones; the cap will reach approximately there.

2. Use a thin mesh for making, then the child will not be hot. Cut out a rectangle with protruding slopes for a more convenient shape. Sew into a circle and cut out an opening for the face. Pull the top part of the cap - this assembly will not be visible later.

3. Cut strips with feathers from a variegated brown-yellow fabric and sew them onto the mesh so that there is a few cm of clearance between the strips (for ventilation).

4. It is better to cut out the beak, comb and beard of the rooster from felt, as it holds its shape well. If the beak is long enough and constantly lowers or folds, glue a wire to it on the underside and decorate it with ribbon to match the color.

On the details themselves, it is better to do stitching and embroidery with thick threads - it will look beautiful.

For more naturalness, you can sew some real feathers onto the hat.

This version of the top part of the rooster costume is good not only for its presentability, but also because nothing will interfere with the child’s face. But if it doesn't suit you, there are other ideas.

For example, you can make a cap like this:

You don’t have to sew it from scratch; you can simply paint a white cap with fabric paints (batik) and sew feathers into it as a comb.

And of course, masks are very common for costumes. They are also sewn either from felt or from another thick fabric. But do not forget that it is better to use a thin, body-friendly material as the base of the mask, onto which all other details will be glued.

Simple masks:

Complex masks:

Additionally, you can look at the elastic bands to wear as a mask.

Now let's move on to the middle part - that is, the body of the rooster.

A simple, but very convenient solution for a child is to sew the wings of a rooster into the sleeves of any sweater that matches the color - so that the wings unfold when the arms are raised.

And here is an example with a wedge-shaped cape:

You can also make wings in the form of mittens.

A complete but simple rooster costume: An elongated sleeveless T-shirt is sewn from two parts (you can even do it without undercuts) with a lock on the back back. It is embroidered with multi-colored feather details (you can sew them in whole stripes, as is the case with a balaclava cap). Wings made of thick fabric are sewn on top of the shoulders, and the wings are secured to the wrists with the help of ribbons. Yellow leggings are worn under the bottom of the sweater.

Paws for a rooster costume

Idea No. 1: sew paw-shaped covers on top of the boots. To do this, the fabric must be starched or glued. To prevent the paws from falling off the heel of the boot, it is better to sew ties from the back and wrap them around the ankle.

The pattern looks like this:

Idea No. 2: sew false paws with an ankle fastening. The downside is that the paws will constantly roll back when walking and dancing, so it is better to fix them on the shoe itself.

We think these ideas will be enough for you to create your own unique rooster costume for a child with your own hands. Just don’t forget that not only the beauty of the outfit is important, but also functionality and convenience!
