Beautiful postcard for March 8 step by step. We draw a gift step by step for beloved mothers with babies at home

Choosing a postcard theme

It would seem, what to choose? The eighth day of March in our country is a women's holiday, which means we need something pleasant for women. And here there is room for thought, because the theme for the postcard can be:
  • flowers (bouquets and individual flowers);
  • plant motifs (leaves, twigs, blades of grass and other flora);
  • beautiful abstraction (spots, splashes, curls and doodles);
  • family motifs (stylized depiction of the whole family, the relationship between mother and child);
  • motherhood ( happy mom in different life or comical situations);
  • femininity (any images associated with femininity - self-care, outfits);
  • culinary themes (charming confectionery products can lift the spirits of many women);
  • animals.
My daughter also suggested using all kinds of insects as a theme for the cards, but, in my opinion, it could be either butterflies or dragonflies - all other insects do not seem attractive to me.

Choosing a work technique

To understand how to do it, you first need to figure out what techniques are available to you and what you can work with. These could be:
  • painting and graphics;
  • applique;
  • scrapbooking;
  • origami;
  • decoupage;
  • embroidery.
As backup options, you can also use beadwork and knitting, but such cards turn out to be too bulky and labor-intensive.

Different topics and different techniques

Several examples of postcards of different themes, which are made in different techniques with brief description work.

Graphics and flowers

The simplest combination, making such a postcard is very easy. Draw flowers in any technique you like - with watercolors, alcohol markers or even gel pens, fold the sheet in half and decorate the drawing a little by adding small details - for example, with glitter gel pens.

Or cut out several circles of different diameters from multi-colored paper, and then cut each circle in a spiral and twist them into buds, you will get cute little flowers with which you can decorate a card.

Another option for a postcard:

You will also need to sign the postcard - you can try to draw a beautiful inscription with your own hands, using the technique of fake calligraphy, or you can simply print out the inscription you like from the Internet.

Options for printable phrases from the site:

Floral motifs and quilling

Quilling is the ideal technique if you want to create voluminous and original beautiful cards for March 8th. To work, you will need a sketch or a master class, a piece of thick paper for a postcard (for example, colored cardboard) and strips of colored paper for quilling.

You need to lay out a drawing from the stripes according to the sketch, gluing it in such a way that it holds its shape well. Or take advantage of the master class and follow its recommendations. Such cards turn out very impressive and beautiful.

If you want to get a voluminous, beautiful postcard for March 8, made by yourself, then it makes sense to make all the elements using the quilling technique separately, and then assemble them on a blank - this way you can work out the composition and come up with your own style.

Abstraction in any technique

This is a fairly simple way to make beautiful cards in just a few minutes, especially if you have minimal skill in working with paints and understand how to mix colors on a sheet so as to get beautiful stains and not dirt on the sheet.

You can try the marbling or suminagashi technique - special paints are dripped onto the water, and the stains are “removed” onto the paper by dipping. This technique allows you to imitate marble - I think you will get beautiful abstract greeting cards.

You can try using monotype - to do this, apply a few drops of liquid watercolor to any smooth and non-absorbent surface, attach a sheet of paper and remove - you will get a beautiful print that can be used as a background for a postcard.

Marbling, like monotype, is very easy way make a beautiful background, and a hand-made background can be decorated with a ready-made inscription (for example, printed from the Internet).

Scrapbooking and femininity

Working in the scrapbooking technique is interesting and quite simple, but you will need to visit a craft store to buy materials for work - cuttings, chipboards, beautiful adhesive tapes, interesting pastes for texturing and all kinds of glitters.

Choose an image for your card - for example, a dress and lace. This is not a very complicated image that even a child can embody. So, you need to choose a background for the card, cut it out and glue it to the base.

Then make the central element - the dress. The upper part is simply cut out of paper, the lower part is best folded into a fan to give a little volume. Glue a piece of lace and some small symbol onto the background - it could be the number eight, a flower, a bird or a butterfly, and then install the central element, and your card is ready.

Origami and animals

It is very easy to learn how to fold origami, and a voluminous postcard decorated with origami looks interesting. Try to make a cute little fox, cat or bird.

To make a postcard you will need origami paper (can be replaced with ordinary colored double-sided paper), a base for the postcard and decor of your choice. If you want the card to be elegant, then you can use sparkles, foil patterns and stars.

And if you like minimalism, then a plain background and a bright paper animal are a great choice!

Culinary theme in different techniques

If you want to make a card in a culinary style, then you can take different motifs - a jar of jam, a beautiful cupcake or just a cup of coffee. This greeting card will be cozy and charming.

To make it, you will need materials for scrapbooking, but you can make do with improvised materials - scraps of beautiful paper, unusual lace and labels, multi-colored tape and voluminous flowers. Assembling finished products is a pleasure, especially if the topic is close to you.

A few more ideas + Video bonus

Postcards with flowers.

Flowers are the most dominant theme for gifts for March 8th. Everything will be useful for making: colored and corrugated paper, ribbons, cotton pads, glossy magazines...

  1. Here are interesting openwork tulips made of colored paper, a master class for which you can watch.
  2. And this work with a whole bouquet of daisies was made by Vasilisa for her grandmother. The craft is called “Magic Bouquet”.

In addition to flowers, women love new outfits, and if a child cannot afford to go to a boutique and buy something for his beloved mother fashionable dress, then making it with your own hands is easy, the main thing is to come up with a style and choose colors and decorative elements. It is quite possible that in the future the child will grow into a real Couturier.

  2. This is the dress from paper napkins You can give it as a gift to your sister.
  3. Master class on origami technique.

Baby cards for grandma

It's no secret that the best gift for grandmother is an apron and kitchen utensils, at least that's what most people think. So, why not make a card with your child in the form of a cup or a beautiful apron.

They did it, but forgot about the postcards. Therefore, I propose to make two simple postcards for March 8 with your own hands, which will not take much time and materials, but look quite decent.

Volumetric postcard “Rainbow Flower”

I'll start with the more difficult option. This wonderful DIY rainbow holiday card for March 8th will please your mother or friend 1000%!

Have you ever noticed how your mood lifts when a ray of sun peeks out from behind the gloomy clouds? Most likely your answer will be yes. And what’s more, you will try to maintain such an upbeat mood for as long as possible. Perhaps the feeling of joy arises because all the colors of the rainbow are present in the beam. To cheer up, you don’t have to wait for a ray of sunshine; you can simply create something like a rainbow out of paper. For example, make a flower with multi-colored petals. This craft is suitable as a gift for March 8th and will perfectly lift your spirits. The process of making a postcard with such a rainbow flower is shown in our master class.

To create such a postcard we will prepare:

  • white cardboard as a blank;
  • 8 squares of paper of different colors;
  • a piece of green paper;
  • glue stick;
  • scissors.
  1. Let's get ready:
  2. We decided to make our flower in rainbow colors. Therefore, we prepared paper in the appropriate shades. From each colored square we will make a module, which will subsequently become the petal of our flower. The size of our flower directly depends on the squares used; we took blanks measuring 8x8 cm. Let's start by creating the first petal. To do this, fold the red square diagonally.
  3. After this, we do another fold in half.
  4. Now we need to expand our red triangle, and then bend the side corners. First, fold the right corner up.
  5. Then we fold the left corner. The blank of our petal has acquired a square shape.
  6. Now the upper layers of the resulting module need to be connected to each other. To do this, apply glue to one half, then press the other half on top.
  7. This is how we got the first red petal of the future flower.
  8. We use the same principle to make the rest of the rainbow petals for our card. In total we received 8 elements.
  9. On white cardboard we visually mark the middle of our flower. Taking this into account, glue the first petal.
  10. After this, we fix the second orange petal.
  11. We continue to work on gluing the rainbow petals.
  12. When all 8 elements are fixed in a circle, our flower is almost ready.
  13. All that remains is to add the stem and leaves. We cut out a strip for the stem from green paper and glue it.
    We cut out a couple of leaves from paper of the same color and fix them with glue. Our postcard with a voluminous flower is ready.

DIY snowdrops postcard for March 8

As soon as the snow begins to melt from the warm rays of the spring sun, the first flowers - snowdrops - immediately appear in the thawed areas. But it is quite difficult to find them in the forest; some species of snowdrops are at the stage of extinction, therefore they are listed in the Red Book. To give snowdrops on March 8, it is not necessary to pick fresh flowers.

Children usually give their mothers and grandmothers snowdrops made from paper or drawn on a postcard.
You and your child can make a greeting card, the main decoration of which will be a snowdrop made of paper or you can even use
The process of making a postcard with a snowdrop is shown in our master class.

To create such a craft, we will prepare:

  • a piece of blue cardboard;
  • white and green paper;
  • ruler;
  • glue stick;
  • green felt-tip pen;
  • a simple pencil;
  • scissors.

  1. The blank for our postcard will be blue cardboard; we used a rectangle measuring 12x21 cm. And to make the snowdrop itself we will take white paper and cut out 3 narrow strips measuring 1.5x9 cm from it.
  2. Now each of these strips needs to be connected into a loop. We do this with glue, applying it to the edges of the strip and connecting it to the other end. This is how we got petals for the future snowdrop.
  3. Let's use the glue stick again and connect the bases of each petal. This is how we got the blank for the flower.
  4. Glue our snowdrop onto the card.
  5. Now we need green paper, cut out a small element from it and glue it to the base of the flower.
  6. At the bottom of the card we will depict snow. To do this, cut out a rectangle 3 cm wide from white paper and glue it. Photo 8.
  7. Let's draw the stem of our snowdrop using a green felt-tip pen.
  8. All that remains is to cut out the leaves. To do this, we will again use green paper, cut out several narrow leaves and glue them to the bottom edge.
  9. Gently curl the free edge of the leaves. Our snowdrop card is ready.

Beautiful applique made of paper and cardboard for early kindergarten

Even children of the younger group can handle such a postcard. After all, it consists of paper circles.

We will need:

  • scissors;
  • glue stick;
  • red cardboard - half a sheet of A4;
  • for the flower - double-sided colored paper (yellow and pale yellow);
  • large rhinestone;
  • for leaves and stems - double-sided paper (green and pale green).

Stages of work:

We will prepare all the necessary details of the application. Cut out six circles from yellow paper: 5 cm 2 mm in diameter. Pale yellow circles in diameter: 4 cm 7 mm, you will also need six of them.

Now we make two circles of green and pale green. Diameter of green: 5 cm 2 mm, pale green: 4 cm 7 mm.

We fold one of the sides of the yellow petal in the form of an envelope. We put it in a circle of a paler color and bend the edges in the same way. We get this two-layer petal.

In the same way, we make five more yellow petals and two green leaves. To prevent the petals from unfolding, we fix them inside with glue.

First, on the back of the cardboard, you can write a poem or simple congratulatory words.

Volumetric paper postcard for March 8th for older children

This is the kind of spring card that mother and grandmother will be very pleased to receive on March 8th.

We will need:

  • colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • glue;
  • ruler.

Stages of work:

We bend a green sheet of paper 20 by 15 cm in half. We draw vertical lines along one of the halves, approximately 2.5 cm wide.

In total we get four stripes separated by lines. We cut off the strip that is located at the very edge. We cut the resulting edge in the form of a wave.

Fold a pale blue rectangle (20 by 15 cm) in half. And glue the previously prepared “grass” into it.

Cut out three orange tulips that match the size of the main card. Glue them to the protruding green stripes.

Now we will cut out 4 orange and 4 soft pink flowers. They will be much smaller in size than the already attached tulips.

We fold the previously cut green strip into an accordion shape and cut it into 3 parts. As a result, we get three thin springs.

Glue 2 springs and two flowers to the front of the entire composition.

Cut out leaves from the remaining green strip. To do this, fold it in four and once lengthwise. Let's round the edge and turn it around. We got 4 leaves. Glue them to the composition.

We also glue all the remaining flowers, except two and one spring.

Cut out a butterfly from pale yellow paper. Decorate it with four green circles. We cut them out from the remaining spring. Attach the butterfly to the very top of the composition.

But what you can do is just change the tones of colored paper:

Making a cool mimosa card from napkins with preschoolers

We will need:

  • colored double-sided paper: pink and green;
  • a sheet of white cardboard;
  • two yellow napkins;
  • glue;
  • a brush for applying glue to paper balls;
  • pencil;
  • ruler;
  • scissors.

Stages of work:

Fold the cardboard in half. Glue a pink rectangle on top. It is slightly smaller than the front of the postcard. Approximately 5 mm.

Using a simple pencil we mark the places where our branch will be located.

Now let's start making mimosa flowers. To do this, unfold the napkin and cut it in the middle into two parts. Let's put each on top of each other and cut them as well. We get four squares. We align them on top of each other and also cut them two more times. As a result, we will get many small squares.

Roll each one into a small ball. We do the same with the second napkin.

Now let's start cutting out the leaves and stems of the mimosa. Cut three strips from a green leaf. Their width is about 1-2 mm. And glue it to the pink background.

We cut off the excess ends with scissors.

Now let’s start decorating the branch with flowers. We coat each paper ball with glue and place it along the mimosa stems.

Then we sketch the leaves. Cut out four mimosa leaves and glue them to the rest of the composition.

Let's start making a festive bow. Cut out a small strip from blue paper. Fold it in half and cut off the corners on all sides. Then open a piece of paper. We bring its ends together in the middle. A little overlapping. Don't forget to secure it all with glue. You will get this miniature bow.

We attach it to the picture. If everything suits you, we glue it. Attach a paper ball to the middle of the bow. And a few pieces in the lower right corner of the postcard.

Inside the card we write a holiday greeting or poem.

We draw a gift step by step for beloved mothers with babies at home

What can a child draw? Yes, absolutely everything that fits the theme of the holiday. We will provide several ideas and templates that you can simply print and color.

For example, you can draw flowers-palms.

We will need:

  • wet wipes;
  • paints;
  • tassels;
  • A4 sheet of paper.

Stages of work:

First, use a brush to paint the stems and grass at the bottom of the leaf. We add leaves to the stems.

For painting with palms, gouache is best. Of course, you can use watercolor, but it won't be as bright.

Using a large brush, apply paint to your palm. Press it to the desired place in the picture. In order for the paints to print well, we slightly press the child’s palm to the sheet with our own hand.

This is how we print all three flowers.

You can also draw a butterfly like this.

We will need:

  • A4 sheet of paper;
  • wax pencils;
  • a simple pencil or black marker.

Stages of work:

Draw the head in the form of a small circle. Two dots (eyes) and a smiling mouth.

And finally we draw the wings. At first top part, and then the bottom one.

Decorate the wings with four circles. We will make antennae on the head. Now all that remains is to decorate it.
